According to the Indonesian coal reports and according to the department of mines and energy reports, it has deposits totalling more than 36.5 billion tons.

THE FACILITES ARE AS FOLLOWS :
    • One port has a minimum of 1-3 jetties.
    • 1-4 crushers of 500 TPH.
    • Stock pile handling 100,000 500,000 MT.
    • Loading rate 12 hours/8000-10,000 MT to barge.
    • Coal handling facility for crusher over 300 1000 MT per hour.
    • Depth of water varies between 7 meters upto 12 meters available up to 300-320 barges.
    • The existing facilities have a production of upto 10 million to 20 million tons per year.

Barging operations are by tug and flat top barge combinations transporting coal either directly to consumer s receiver ports or coastal offshore anchorage locations for trans-shipments to bulk carriers or to coal terminal facilities.

For a handymax vessel or panamax vessel, they will be served by a minimum of 5 units of flat top 270, 300 and 320 flat top barges. The 270 barge can load about 6500mt, 300 barge can load about 8000 MT and 320 barge can load upto 10,000 MT of coal.

The barges can be loaded at a jetty facilitated by a conveyor loading system near the river mouth.

AIC also load these barges at jetty dumping methods ensuring sufficient barges are made ready upon the arrival of bulk vessel. Load rates at anchorage point is 8000 MT and at bulk coal terminal at a rate of 20,000 MT per day for handy and panamax size vessel.
